The problem with the IPD is the same now as it was years back.Instead of being on patrol they are too busy setting in one place trying to catch speeders. After all them speeders bring money to the city and catching people that vandalize property doesn't.
Some of their spots for setting: Church parking lot at Cottonwood and Madison - parking area for Madison Steak House - and I noticed today one setting at the Tremac parking lot trying to catch speeders. Their favorite streets for driving searching for speeders - Lincoln, North Kentucky, Madison, East, North Washington, North Cottonwood, Oregon Rd, and of course all of State Street. When was the last time you saw a member of the IPD other than the dog chaser on your street?
I might add that when I was younger running the streets, we'd pinpoint where they were setting and then go to the other end of town to raise hell. I'm sure those that are causing the damage know where they are setting so are well aware of the fact they can get away with their crimes.
They'll never catch this bunch of hooligans because they don't patrol the areas where the damage is being done. To them "Protect and Serve" means setting in one place waiting for a speeder to come to them. Except when they are out by Gates waiting for one of those hot rodders to fail to make a complete stop and that Stop sign.
