A new hospital would be great. But, there is still the issue of local care. If they have a new hospital, will they be better equipped to deal with illnesses locally, or still be sending people off to the big city? It just makes no sense to me to have a fancy new building and then turn people away because they aren't equipped to deal with it.And as for the schools, what about all of the money that went into the repair and remodeling of the middle school a few years back? Perhaps they should not be so hasty and come up with all of the new plans at once instead of spending so much for a few years use.I may be wrong, but aren't the taxpayers paying for that? It would be nice if spending were put to a vote. Do you think that might happen? Either way, someone will not be happy. I personally think that a nice selection of decent housing, jobs and stores would be a bigger pull to draw in or keep the people here. If you have that, then you can justify the spending. My opinion is that decent jobs and housing are more important. Just a thought, but where would these private investors come from? Those are just my thoughts and certainly no one has to agree with them.Like most people, I really don't want to pay for what I am not using. But, like most, I will be doing it.
