Iola.com Forum Rules

Whether this is your first time online or you're a seasoned online user, we've spelled out our forum rules for you here. Generally speaking, these rules simply require respect and good manners. Use common sense and you'll feel right at home.

The Iola.com Forum is a real-time message board system. Once you press the "submit" button, your message is posted and viewable without any review or approval and may be viewed by anyone worldwide. In fact there are many visitors from other countries that view the Forum. For this reason, we rely on you to be responsible.

General Guidelines

• Your message(s) should be appropriate, on subject, and as accurate as possible. More specifically: You agree, by use of the Forum, that you will not use the Forum to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or which violates any law. Please keep in mind that young people may be viewing your comments, so please keep your language clean.

• We live by words online, so we don't allow obscene, racist or sexually explicit language. We also reserve the right to remove postings that defame or insult anyone, and notes that are abusive or hateful. Any harassing notes or postings that might be construed as stalking will be deleted and made available to the proper law enforcement officials. We also reserve the right to remove notes that are off the subject or not in English.

• You must respect the privacy of individuals. This means no posting of phone numbers, addresses, social security numbers or any other private information.

• You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you.

• Advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are absolutely prohibited. This includes advertisements for your business. Such notes add clutter and devalue conversation. If someone makes a specific request about goods or services that you offer, you may reply requesting that the person contact you in private email and post your email address. If you wish to post an advertisement, do so in our Classifieds area.

We make no guarantee of privacy.
